Theory, simulations as well as experiments are conducted on biomimetic systems (vesicles and capsules) as well as on blood in simple and complex geometries. Simulations are based on boundary integral as well as on Lattice Boltzmann method.

We study blood flow in simple and complex vascular networks.

A particular present study is red blood cells aggregation and embolies.

Experiments are performed in vitro and in vivo. In vitro experiments use microfluidic devices constriction where internal surfaces can be functionalized with real endothelium (so called “microvasculature on chip” )
